Hi everyone!
For all you flutists out there, listen up closely!
I am looking for any good professional flute brands that will suit me for college. Upon graduating from college, I plan to be a professional flutist. But to get to where I need to be, I have to get good recommendations of professional flutes that aren't James Galway expensive! LOL. I have tried Pearl, Yamaha, and Gemeinhardt, and I don't like any of them. Yamaha is ok, but the low notes don't come out good. Gemeinhardt sounds like a student flute, and Pearl is too bright!
Thanks for all of your suggestions and hope to hear from you all soon!

Oh, and I also forgot to mention that I also tried out Trevor James (which was okay), Emmerson, and Armstrong. Emmerson and Armstrong sucked!

Another update: This Saturday, I may be going to Cofa (Central Ohio Flute Association), which is held at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. They will have exhibits where I can try out many different brands of flutes! I'm really excited! They will have a master class which I may go to. I'll let you all know how it goes upon my return!
Best wishes to each and every one of you,
Macy

Quick update: I did not go to COFA because my flute teacher's car was having problems. Plus, my uncle died that same day, so I was crushed. I went to his viewing yesterday and his funeral today.

Another update: I also tried a basic Muramatsu. It was okay, but I didn't really have that much time to try it out. LOL. *Grin*. Anyway, my flute teacher and I are going to get a couple of flutes from Miyazawa so I can try them out. I'm really excited!!!! I've heard my friend, Bobbi, play on a Miyazawa where she recorded herself, and it sounded great! The low notes were perfect, every note in all of the registers was great! Not too bright, not too dark, just right! *Grin*. I'll let you know how it went! Can't wait!

I also tried a Burkart flute out but I had trouble because my friend didn't have many of the plugs for her flute.
